The Office Manager serves a crucial role in Metropolitan Policy Center (MPC). The primary duties of this position include scheduling, planning, and executing MPC events, budgeting and reimbursement processing related to center grants, managing and coordinating the director’s calendar, and communicating with MPC faculty affiliates and staff and a variety of external audiences. 

Educational Requirements:
Associate's degree or the equivalent in education, training or experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.  
Minimum Requirements:
  • Proven experience in an office setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Google Drive, Dropbox, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and Google Calendar
  • Solid writing and proofreading skills
  • Highly organized, efficient, and able to manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Capacity to multi-task clerical duties and events planning
  • Ability to maintain correspondence with internal and external audiences
  • Attention to detail and time management skills are essential
Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior office management experience preferred   
  • An interest/background in metropolitan and urban concerns is a plus
  • Experience interfacing with professors and university administration is helpful
