Description:
This position provides administrative support for the Department of Public Administration and Policy including, but not limited to, record keeping, data entry, correspondence, work study supervision, inventory control, and making appointments for the advisors and some faculty. Currently, the position meets and greets the public for the Department of Public Administration and directs them to the proper resources. This job requires customer-focus, self-direction, time management, and minimal supervision.
Educational Requirements:
A high school diploma is required. This position requires some college education or the equivalent work experience or training.
Minimum Requirements:
  • This position requires good interpersonal and communication skills in working with both students and faculty, and a customer-service orientation
  • Must have the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds 
  • 1-2 years of office experience
  • Demonstrable experience in computer applications such as Word, Lotus Notes, the internet, and in particular Microsoft Excel for data entry projects
Preferred Requirements:
  • Expertise with word processing software required as well as very basic internet savvy and web page editing skills
  • Microsoft Excel skills are vital for data projects
  • Must have willingness to respond to inquiries on software usage and to offer support to all faculty and all staff inquiries in SPA
