Description:
The Special Events Coordinator manages a portfolio of annual events including receptions, dinners, and recognition events.  Determines logistical needs for events and provides on-site support. This position works directly with campus partners including the Office of Development, Enrollment, and academic units to provide assistance and consulting services.  Provides administrative support for the events team.     
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in administrative work and event planning
  • Must possess a high level of professionalism, organizational skills, and oral and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a variety of on and off-campus constituencies
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent software packages
  • Must be willing to work evenings or weekends that coincide with events
  • The position must be able to handle multiple events and priorities in a calm and professional manner; ensure a high degree of accuracy and flexibility, and possess sound judgment, discretion and confidentiality
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience in planning and coordinating events at a college or university
